New Hampshire leads wire-to-wire, beats UMass Lowell 76-60

LOWELL, Mass. (AP) Jacoby Armstrong scored 16 points and Tanner Leissner added 15 points on 7-of-7 shooting plus nine rebounds to lead New Hampshire to its fourth straight victory, a 76-60 win over UMass Lowell on Saturday.

Jaleen Smith added 11 points for the Wildcats (17-10, 10-4 America East). UNH has posted the second-most wins in program history, trailing only the 1994-95 squad that had 19.

UNH took the lead in the opening minute and never trailed. Leissner had 13 points in the first half when the Wildcats made 6 of 9 3-point attempts and led 36-26.

Chad Holley scored 15 points, Matt Harris 11 and Lance Crawford 10 for the River Hawks (12-16, 6-9).

The Wildcats shot 58.5 percent and made 9 of 18 3-point attempts while outrebounding the River Hawks 39-22. UNH did send UMass Lowell to the line for 29 free throws with the River Hawks making 17.
