Incarnate Word knocks off Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 74-68

SAN ANTONIO (AP) Denzel Livingston had 19 points and Kyle Hittle scored 10 of his 16 in the final 3:31 as Incarnate Word knocked off Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 74-68 in Southland Conference play on Saturday.

Hittle has scored 1,000 points in his Incarnate Word career. Traylin Farris had 16 points and Shawn Johnson added 15 for UIW (16-7, 8-5).

Trailing 51-47, Johnson nailed two straight 3-pointers to give UIW a 53-51 lead with 7:19 left. Livingston completed a three-point play and added four consecutive free throws for a 60-53 advantage at the 4:26 mark. Hittle and Farris both completed three-point plays for a 66-59 lead with 1:23 left.

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (14-12, 9-5) was tied for third in the conference behind Sam Houston State and Stephen F. Austin going into the game. The Islanders beat SFA 71-63 last Saturday to give the Lumberjacks their only conference defeat.

John Jordan led the Islanders with 19 points.
