Savannah State defeats Florida A&M 63-52

SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) Terel Hall and Hikeem Champaigne scored 12 points apiece to help Savannah State beat Florida A&M 63-52 on Monday night.

Savannah State (7-19, 3-9 Mid-Eastern) held Florida A&M to 16 field goals on 50 attempts (32 percent) and just 2 of 8 from beyond the arc.

Jamal Norman was 4-of-5 shooting, including two 3-pointers, for 10 points in the first half as Savannah State took a 32-25 lead into the break.

The Tigers started the second half with a 13-4 run - including a 3-pointer by Javaris Jenkins - to open a 45-29 lead. Savannah State's advantage hit 20 with 8:40 to go on Brian Pearson's jumper.

Florida A&M (1-26, 1-13) scored the final seven points to make the final margin more palatable. Jermaine Ruttley led the Rattlers with 19 points and 10 boards.
