Stony Brook gets 20th win, tops UMass Lowell 75-60

STONY BROOK, N.Y. (AP) Jameel Warney scored 23 points and grabbed 12 rebounds and Stony Brook collected its 20th win of the season, knocking off UMass Lowell 75-60 on Wednesday night.

The Seawolves (20-10, 11-4) won their fifth straight to maintain a share of third place in the America East Conference, one game behind Vermont. Stony Brook has won all four meetings with UMass Lowell since the River Hawks joined Division I prior to the start of last season.

Roland Nyama drilled a 3-pointer with 10:15 left in the first half to give Stony Brook its first lead, 18-16, and the Seawolves pushed their advantage to 11 points by intermission.

Nyama finished with 16 points, knocking down 4 of 9 from distance. Scott King had 12 points and Rayshaun McGrew added 10 points and grabbed 10 boards.

Matt Harris and Lance Crawford each had 13 points to lead UMass Lowell (12-17, 6-10).
