SMU unveiled new football helmets on Thursday. The helmets are blue and incorporate the American flag.

New Mustangs coach Chad Morris described the helmets on Twitter as "straight up Nasty!"

SMU hired Morris, who previously served as Clemson's offensive coordinator, in December.

The Mustangs went 1-11 last season.
