Auburn guard Antoine Mason will not play in Saturday's game against Texas A&M after his father, Anthony, died early Saturday morning. He was 48.

Earlier this month, Mason suffered a heart attack and was diagnosed with congestive heart failure.

An Auburn release notes that Mason was a "frequent visitor to Auburn Arena to watch his son play."

Antoine flew to New York earlier this week to be with his father.

He had traveled to the city twice this season but returned in time for the Tigers' next game.

Antoine Mason transferred to Auburn this season after ranking second in the nation with 25.6 points per game at Niagara last season.
