UNC Asheville snaps 4-game skid, beats Liberty 95-77

LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) Andrew Rowsey scored 27 points to lead five in double figures as UNC Asheville snapped its four-game losing skid with a 95-77 victory over Liberty on Saturday.

Rowsey was 5 of 16 from the floor and made 14 of 15 free throws. Ahmad Thomas scored 19 points, David Robertson had 17, Giacomo Zilli 13 and Kevin Vannatta 12 for UNC Asheville (14-15, 10-8 Big South), which shot 30 of 51 (58.8 percent) from the floor and 50 percent from long range.

UNC Asheville ended the first half on a 33-11 run to lead 46-26 at the break, and stretched it to 26 points with 12:56 left.

Theo Johnson scored 18 points to lead Liberty (8-23, 2-16). Ryan Kemrite had 14 points and Andrew Smith added 11 with nine rebounds for the Flames.
