North Carolina A&T beats Bethune-Cookman 67-50

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) Ahmad Abdullah scored 17 points and North Carolina A&T beat Bethune-Cookman 67-50 on Monday night.

The teams are now tied for eighth in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference with one game to play.

Bruce Beckford added 13 points and eight rebounds and Arturs Bremers had 12 points, all on 3-pointers. The Aggies held a 34-26 rebounding advantage and blocked five shots.

North Carolina A&T (9-21, 6-9) made a 12-3 run early in the first half, including a 3-pointer from Bremers, and led 30-24 at the break.

The Aggies used a 15-6 run early in the second half, capped by a layup by Abdullah, to open a 12-point lead and Bethune-Cookman never got within seven points again.

Bethune-Cookman (10-20, 6-9) was led by Ricky Johnson with 18 points, despite going 4 of 14 from the field, and Mikel Trapp had 14 points.
