George Washington beats George Mason 67-51

FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) Patricio Garino scored 15 points and grabbed nine boards to lead George Washington to a 67-51 win over George Mason on Wednesday night.

Kevin Larsen and Paul Jorgensen added 11 points apiece for the Colonials (19-11, 9-8 Atlantic 10 Conference) who hit 46.8 percent from the field and outrebounded George Mason 38-29.

Vaughn Gray and Corey Edwards each sank a pair of 3-pointers and Marquise Moore added a fifth to help George Mason build a 32-29 lead at the break.

George Washington started the second half on a 12-4 run to take a 41-36 lead with 13:39 to play. With the Colonials on top 52-40, Edwards and Moore hit back-to-back 3-pointers to bring the Patriots (9-20, 4-13) to within eight points, 54-46, with 5:46 remaining. But a Jorgensen 3-pointer and a dunk by Garino down the stretch kept the Colonials out front.

Moore led the Patriots with 12 points.
