Lafayette advances with easy win over Boston U 89-64

EASTON, Pa. (AP) Nick Lindner led all five starters in double figures with 23 points and fourth-seeded Lafayette cruised past No. 5 seed Boston University 89-64 in the Patriot League tournament on Thursday.

Lafayette (18-12) will face top-seed Bucknell, which topped No. 8 Holy Cross 90-83 in overtime, in the semifinals on Sunday.

The Leopards led by six after the first half, paced by 12 points from Lindner and 11 from Bryce Scott.

Lafayette opened the second half with a 17-2 run - including 3-pointers from Lindner and Joey Ptasinski - and the Terriers never really challenged after that.

Lindner made five 3-pointers as Lafayette was 16 of 29 beyond the arc. Seth Hinrichs scored 18 points, Ptasinski had 15, Scott finished with 14 and Dan Trist had 11 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.

Cedric Hankerson led Boston University (13-17) with 14 points. Justin Alston added 12 points and seven boards.
