McMullen's double-double helps Colgate beat Navy 72-62

HAMILTON, N.Y. (AP) Matt McMullen scored 18 points and had 15 boards as No. 2 seed Colgate rolled past seventh-seeded Navy 72-62 in the quarterfinals of the Patriot League tournament on Thursday night.

McMullen was 9 of 10 from the free-throw line, while Ethan Jacobs and Luke Roh each finished with 14 points. Alex Ramon had 13 points and Damon Sherman-Newsome chipped in 11 as Colgate combined to shoot 52.5 percent from the floor. The Raiders (16-16, 12-6) will face sixth-seeded American University on Sunday.

Ramon made a trey and a layup on back-to-back plays for a 13 point lead with 11:02 remaining. Tilman Dunbar had a three-point play and split a pair of free throws to close Navy within six points with 1:22 left, but the Midshipmen could get no closer.

Dunbar scored 17 points and Bryce Dulin added 16 for Navy (13-19, 8-10).
