Idaho State hangs on to beat Idaho 67-65

POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) Chris Hansen scored 23 points with five 3-pointers and Idaho State hung on at the end to beat Idaho 67-65 on Saturday night.

Nnamdi Ezenwa had 14 points and Geno Luzcando added 10 for the Bengals (7-23, 4-14 Big Sky).

Ezenwa made a pair of 3-pointers late in the first half and Idaho State led 34-30 at the break.

Hansen scored the first seven points of the second half, including a 3-pointer, to push Idaho State's lead to 11 points and it never trailed again, though Idaho scored seven straight points to trim the deficit to one point with 24 seconds left.

Idaho State's Ben Wilson made 1 of 2 free throws with 14 seconds to go to make it a two-point game, but Connor Hill's last-ditch 3-pointer missed the mark.

Hill led the Vandals (13-16, 8-10) with 21 points.
