South Dakota beats Fort Wayne 82-73 in Summit quarterfinals

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) Brandon Bos scored a career-high 29 and No. 5 seed South Dakota beat fourth-seeded Fort Wayne 82-73 in the Summit League tournament quarterfinals on Sunday.

The Coyotes (17-15) took control in the first half and led by double digits for most of the second. Fort Wayne (16-14) rallied to within five with 1:10 left.

South Dakota's victory was its first Summit League tournament win in program history since joining in 2011. The Coyotes will play No. 1 seed and in-state rival South Dakota State in the semifinals on Monday.

Bos made 6 of 6 first-half field goals, with five 3-pointers, and had 19 points at the break as South Dakota pulled away with a 19-2 run and led by 21.

Fort Wayne closed the gap to nine points in the first eight minutes of the second half, but South Dakota scored 10 straight to lead 67-48 with 6:50 to go.
