Mississippi State lineman Elgton Jenkins arrested on assault charge
Mississippi State offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins was arrested last week on a warrant regarding simple assault, reportsThe Clarion-Ledger.
According to the report, Jenkins was booked and released on Thursday. The Mississippi State University police department provided no other details concerning Jenkins' arrest.
Jenkins, a freshman from Clarksdale, Miss., was a 2014 three-star recruit, according to Rivals.
He is the second Mississippi State player that has been arrested in the past week.
The Bulldogs' leading receiver from last season, De'Runnya Wilson, was arrested on Friday in Alabama after a traffic stop. He was charged with second degree marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. Wilson was released after posting $2,500 bail.
