All four No. 5 seeds won — West Virginia beat Buffalo, Utah beat Stephen F. Austin, Arkansas beat Wofford and Northern Iowa beat Wyoming.

Two No. 3 seeds fell on Thursday, with UAB beating Iowa State and Georgia State defeating Baylor.
Both the 2013 and 2014 NCAA tournaments featured three of the four No. 5 seeds falling in the Round of 64. In 2013, No. 12 seed Oregon reached the Sweet Sixteen.
