Despite facing a double-digit deficit for much of the second half, N.C. State improbably advanced past LSU in the NCAA tournament second round after BeeJay Anya converted a hook shot with 0.1 remaining to give the Wolfpack a 66-65 lead.
LSU appeared to be in control of the game, but the Tigers failed to convert a field goal after Jarell Martin hit a jump shot at the 10:25 mark in the second half. LSU missed its last 12 field goal attempts.
Down 65-64, Anya received the ball inside the paint, spun and threw up a left-handed hook shot. The ball bounced around the rim before dropping in.
N.C. State will play No. 1 seed Villanova in the third-round.
