BYU women's basketball player Makenzi Morrison hit the deck after she took a shoulder from a Louisville player to the jaw

The first round matchup in the NCAA women's basketball tournament between Louisville and BYU was already a physical contest, but it became flagrantly so early in the second half.

Officials called a flagrant foul on Louisville's Mariya Moore when she lowered her shoulder into BYU player Makenzi Morrison's jaw as she ran by, the Deseret Newsreported.

Morrison was "visibly shaken," according to the report, but went on to make her ensuing free throw attempts. 

​"They tried to get into us and I thought the refs let too much go," BYU coach Jeff Judkins told the Desert News after the game. 

"They started to hit us quite a bit and overwhelm us with their size and depth, but we have to learn how to play against that sort of thing. If you get slapped in the face, you have to fight back and fight back smart. So they took us out of our gameplan, and we weren't really able to respond."

Louisville nonetheless won the game handily, 86-53.
