Duke assistant coach Jeff Capel has been offered the head coaching job at Arizona State, reports ESPN.com.

Arizona State is seeking to replace Herb Sendek, who was fired on Tuesday after nine seasons with the program.

Sendek had a 159-137 in his tenure with the Sun Devils, but failed to get the team to the NCAA tournament in seven of his nine seasons, including this season when Arizona State went 18-16.
