Buffalo and coach Bobby Hurley have agreed in principle to renegotiate his contract, according to a report on Wednesday from The Buffalo News. The new deal would make Hurley the highest-paid coach in the Mid-American Conference, the report says.

Money for the pay raise would come from university donors, according to the report.

ESPN reported late Tuesday that Hurley has emerged as the front runner to become the next head coach of DePaul. Former Blue Demons coach Oliver Purnellresigned earlier this month.

Hurley was expected to interview this weekend at DePaul, the report says.

This season Buffalo recorded 23 wins and won the MAC conference tournament to earn the program's first tournament berth. In two seasons under Hurley, the Bulls have gone 42-20.

Before becoming a coach, Hurley, 43, played point guard at Duke and in the NBA.
