West Virginia's Daxter Miles said the 36-0 Kentucky Wildcats will suffer their first loss when the two teams match up on Thursday in the Sweet 16.

Miles has been key thus far in the NCAA tournament, scoring 10 and 12 points in the Mountaineers' first two wins.

West Virginia has made it to the Sweet 16 nine times in the last 54 seasons, most recently in 2010, when it reached the Final Four and lost to Duke. As part of that tournament run, West Virginia upset a then-No. 1 seeded Kentucky team.

Kentucky is already the first team in NCAA history to post a 36-0 record and is attempting to become the first team to go 40-0 over the course of an entire season and postseason.

The Mountaineers and Wildcats square off at 9:45 p.m. ET on CBS.

As we've seen before in this NCAA tournament, though, guaranteeing a win is risky business
