Fordham hires Eastern Kentucky's Jeff Neubauer as coach

Fordham has hired Eastern Kentucky's Jeff Neubauer as its next basketball coach, the school announced Monday. Neubauer will be introduced at a news conference on Tuesday.
Neubauer, 44, replaces Tom Pecora, who was fired last week after compiling a 44-106 record in five seasons at the school. Fordham also interviewed Robert Morris coach Andy Toole, but he decided to stay at the school.
Fordham had a 10-21 record this season, including 4-14 in the Atlantic 10 Conference. The Rams have not been to the NCAA tournament since 1992.

Neubauer has been at Eastern Kentucky for the past 10 seasons and has a 188-134 career record. He has taken the Colonels to the NCAA tournament twice.
Last year, he agreed to a contract extension that would have kept him at Eastern Kentucky through the 2018 season.
