Nate Oats to serve as Buffalo's interim basketball coach

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) Nate Oats will serve as Buffalo's interim head basketball coach while the Bulls look for a replacement for Bobby Hurley.

Hurley left Buffalo after two seasons Thursday to coach Arizona State.

Oats was Hurley's top assistant and recruiting coordinator the past two seasons, helping the Bulls make their first NCAA Tournament appearance this year.

Before coming to Buffalo, Oats was the head coach at Romulus High School in Michigan for 11 seasons, leading the team to a 27-1 record and a state title in 2012-13.
