Ivan Rabb, a heralded power forward prospect who attends Bishop O'Dowd (Calif.) High, announced on Monday night that he has committed to Cal.

Rabb was reportedly deciding between the Golden Bears and Pac-12 rival Arizona.

The recruiting website Rivals.com ranks the 6'8'', 191-pound Rabb the No. 8 player in the class of 2015.

Last month Rabb scored 19 points, grabbed 21 rebounds and made a key free throw late to lift O'Dowd to a win over Mater Dei (Calif.) High in the state championship game.

This spring Rabb was selected for the McDonald's All-American game, participated in the Nike Hoop Summit and will take part in the Jordan Brand Classic on Friday.

Earlier this month, Rabb spoke to USA Basketball about what he's looking for in a school.

“In a university, first of all I’m looking at academics,” Rabb said. “I know that school will always help me. And with me being an athlete, that’ll give me even more connections after college. And I also want to go to a school that’s going to win. Arizona is already established. They’re winning games, they’re in the tournament every year. Cal, this is their first year not really making the tournament.

"They have some really good players, but they need a few more guys to help turn things around. Either way, I don’t think could make a bad decision. I know people are questioning why I would go to Cal, but you have to see past that and see the potential on the team. I see how much better they got from last year to this year. I just see the energy and they’re hungry.”

Rabb joins a recruiting class that also includes small forward Davon Dillard.
