UAB booster-funded study: School should reinstate football program
A study funded by University of Alabama-Birmingham boosters concluded that reinstating the football, rifle and bowling programs would be profitable for the school, AL.com reports.
The full report, which could be seen here, alleges that the three sports did not cost $3.75 million as the school indicated.
According to AL.com, the report claims that if those three sports were reinstated the school would actually be profiting more than $500,000.

UAB announced it was shutting down its football program and firing its athletic director at the end of last year.
A video of the football players emotionally responding to the program being canceled has been viewed more than a million times on YouTube.
The football team went 4-4 in conference play and 6-6 overall in 2014.
