Canadian forward Kyle Alexander signs with Tennessee

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Tennessee has added Canadian forward Kyle Alexander to its recruiting class.

The school announced Saturday that the 6-foot-10 Alexander had signed his letter of intent. He plans to enroll at Tennessee in June as a freshman.

Tennessee coach Rick Barnes said in a statement that Alexander has ''only been playing basketball for about 2 1/2 years, but it's clear the sky is the limit in terms of his potential.'' Alexander is a senior at Athlete Institute, a prep school in Orangeville, Ontario.

Alexander is the younger brother of Kayla Alexander, a center for the WNBA's San Antonio Stars.

Alexander joins a recruiting class that also includes guard Shembari Phillips and forwards Ray Kasongo and Admiral Schofield. Kasongo and Alexander, the two players to sign since Barnes' arrival, are Canadian.
