Former Providence forward Tyler Harris is transferring to Auburn, he told the Montgomery Advertiser.

Harris will be eligible to play immediately in 2015–16 as a grad transfer. He averaged 9.9 points and 4.0 rebounds for the Friars last season.

The 6'9" forward is the younger brother of Orlando Magic forward Tobias Harris, who played for Auburn coach Bruce Pearl at Tennessee in 2010–11.

"I knew that Bruce Pearl would be able to put me in a position like my brother was able to play in," Harris told the Advertiser. "I feel like Auburn was the best school for me to be at. I feel like I can help the team a lot to reach the ultimate goal: winning games, get into the [NCAA] tournament and winning championships."

WINN: Ten teams that could win it all next season

The Tigers went 15–20 last season in their first year under Pearl. Auburn has the No. 18 ranked 2015 recruiting class on Rivals coming in, led by four-star forwards Danjel Purifoy and Horace Spencer.
