Offensive lineman Darius James is transferring from Texas to Auburn, he told the Austin American-Statesman.

James appeared in six games and started two games last season before suffering a season-ending knee injury in November.

He was rated the top offensive center in the class of 2013 by Rivals.com.

James will sit out the 2015 season in accordance with NCAA transfer rules and have two years of eligibility beginning in 2016.

Texas finished 6-7 last season, including a 5-4 mark in the BIg 12 conference. Auburn finished the year 8-5, including a 4-4 record in the SEC. 

Auburn opens its 2015 campaign against Louisville, while Texas will play its opener at Notre Dame.
