Coach K to Jahlil Okafor: Be prepared to be the face of a franchise
On SI Now, former Duke forward Jahlil Okafor explained to host Maggie Gray how Blue Devils coach Mike Krzyzewski has been his biggest supporter in the run up to June's NBA draft, noting that the Hall Of Famer told him he should "be ready to be the face of a franchise" in the NBA.
Okafor was instrumental in Duke's NCAA title victory in 2015, leading the Blue Devils past Wisconsin 68–63 in the championship game.
Okafor is expected to be one of the top picks in the draft.
The Minnesota Timberwolves won the NBA draft lottery on Tuesday night and will select first. The Los Angeles Lakers will select second while the Philadelphia 76ers have the third overall pick.
If selected first overall, he might have some competition for being the face of the Timberwolves. Minnesota's 2015-16 roster is expected to include a pair for former first overall draft selections in Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennett, as well as power forward Kevin Garnett, who is in the top 15 all time in both points scored and rebounds in the NBA.
