PHOENIX (AP) A suspended Arizona State football recruit accused of domestic violence has pleaded guilty to misdemeanor disorderly conduct.

Maricopa County Superior Court officials say 21-year-old Davon Durant changed his plea to guilty on Thursday and that other charges against Durant will be dismissed when he is sentenced. The other charges include aggravated assault.

Police had said Durant's girlfriend initially told police she was hit and choked during a March 7 argument.

Police also said the girlfriend had abrasions and neck bruises consistent with being grabbed but that she later said the incident was only a verbal altercation. Durant also has said that.

ASU suspended Durant indefinitely following his arrest, and athletic department spokesman Mark Brand says Durant's status remains unchanged.

The linebacker is a junior-college transfer.
