Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer told reporters Friday that quarterback Braxton Miller will play for the school this fall.

Miller has been the subject of transfer rumors this off-season due to the fact that the Buckeyes have a three-man quarterback competition with Miller, J.T. Barrett and Cardale Jones

Earlier this month, Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith told Eleven Warriors that Miller is not transferring.

Miller missed the entire 2014 season after tearing his labrum during preseason camp and continues to rehab. Meyer saidFriday that Miller has started throwing up to 35 yards and is “in the best shape he's ever been in.”

A two-time Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year, Miller would have been eligible to play immediately next season had he decided to transfer.

After Miller sustained the torn labrum, Barrett led the Buckeyes to a 10–1 record before fracturing his ankle in the regular season finale. Jones then took over and went 3–0 as a starter, winning the Big Ten Championship Game and the College Football Playoff semifinal and title game.

Meyer said he has not discussed Miller playing a position other than quarterback.

Jones announced in January that he will return to school next season, and Barrett told SI.com the same month that he is not leaving the program.
