Former Missouri transfer Johnathan Williams III has committed to Gonzaga. Williams announced his decision in an Instagram post Saturday night.

Williams, a 6'9", 225-pound forward, transferred from Missouri last month along with guard Deuce Bello. He will sit out the 2015–2016 season as mandated by NCAA transfer rules.

As a sophomore last season, he averaged 11.9 points and 7.1 rebounds over 29.4 minutes per game. Those numbers marked significant improvements from his freshman year, when he averaged 5.8 points and 6.5 rebounds in 26.3 minutes per game.

Missouri finished 9–23, last in the SEC.

As a high school recruit out of Memphis, Tenn., Williams was a top-50 recruit by Rivals.com who drew scholarship offers from Florida, Georgetown, Memphis, Michigan State, North Carolina and others.

Gonzaga finished 35–3 last season, eventually losing to eventual national champion Duke in the Elite Eight. Earlier this month, Gonzaga also landed a transfer in former Washington guard Nigel Williams-Goss.
