White transferring from Arkansas-Little Rock to Georgia Tech

ATLANTA (AP) Forward James White, who led Arkansas-Little Rock in rebounds last season, is transferring to Georgia Tech to play his final season.

Coach Brian Gregory says White has signed grant-in-aid papers to make the transfer official.

The 6-foot-8, 220-pound Howard averaged a team-high 6.6 rebounds and was second with his average of 11.9 points in 14 games last season. His season was cut short by a stress fracture in his tibia. He has started 42 games over the past two seasons.

White, who is from Jonesboro, Georgia, plans to enroll at Georgia Tech in August after receiving his bachelor's degree in health education promotion.

Another Jonesboro native, Virginia Tech graduate Adam Smith, a guard, also is transferring to Georgia Tech for next season.
