Report: Kentucky issues rapper Drake cease-and-desist letter
Kentucky has issued rapper and noted Wildcats fan Drake a cease-and-desist letter after his appearance at last season's Big Blue Madness, Sporting News reports.
Kentucky compliance self-reported impermissable communication on April 27 between Drake, who was hanging out in the hallways and around the locker room after the game, and three potential student-athletes during the annual pre-season event at Rupp Arena on Oct. 17, according to Sporting News.
Kentucky reportedly took measures to prevent Drake from running into these recruits, but it happened anyway. Photo evidence corroborates the report, as a shot of recruit Charles Matthews (who had already committed to Kentucky in February 2014) taking a picture with the rapper surfaced on Twitter after the event. Matthews' request was considered a Level III (non-suspension) violation, according to the report.
In UK's letter to the NCAA, it wrote that it had issued the cease-and-desist to Drake asking him to refrain from speaking or taking pictures with prospective players when “outside the parameters established by the NCAA.”

Kentucky head coach John Calipari did not deny the violations, but offered two tweets Wednesday afternoon in support of Drake, affirming a positive relationship between his “dear friend” and the basketball program.
It's been a rough 24-hour news cycle for Drake, who took several barbs from fellow rapper Meek Mill on Twitter Tuesday night.
In addition to his involvement in an NCAA violation, Drake also air-balled at last year's Big Blue Madness.
