After an 8–5 season that ended in a Music City Bowl loss to Notre Dame, LSU kicks off its 2015 campaign on Sept. 5 against McNeese State.

The Tigers are ranked No. 23 in SI.com's preseason poll.

LSU will look to improve on an offense that ranked No. 75 in the FBS in total yards and last in the SEC in total passing yards in 2014. Starting quarterback Anthony Jennings returns, as does sophomore running back Leonard Fournette, who is expected to be a candidate for the Heisman Trophy.

Defensively, the Tigers ranked third in the FBS in points per game allowed and No. 8 in total yards allowed last year. LSU has a new defensive coordinator in Kevin Steele, who replaces the departed John Chavis.
