Minnesota athletic director Norwood Teague has resigned after two recent sexual harassment incidents, the school announced Friday.

Teague sexually harassed two non-student university employees, according to the school. Teague told KARE 11's Jana Shortal that he sent inappropriate texts after consuming alcohol and that he would be “reevaluating [his] life and career.”

The incident occurred two weeks before the announcement, Teague said. Minnesota president Eric Kaleraccepted Teague's resignation effective immediately.

Beth Goetz, the school's deputy athletics director and senior woman administrator, will serve as the Gophers' athletic director on an interim basis, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune

Teague became Minnesota's athletic director in 2012 after six years at VCU.
