BYU's Takitaki charged with 2 counts of misdemeanor theft

PROVO, Utah (AP) A campus police report shows BYU sophomore linebacker Sione Takitaki has been charged with two counts of misdemeanor theft.

KSL.com (http://bit.ly/1L9Ikf4 ) reports Takitaki has been given citations for two Class B misdemeanors for thefts of athletic wear from the women's soccer and track and field portions of Smith Fieldhouse.

Court documents list Aug. 27 as Takitaki's arraignment date.

An individual reported a missing jacket near the women's soccer offices to BYU police on July 10. Another report was filed July 21 over several items being taken from different areas.

Officers identified Takitaki from surveillance footage.

Takitaki had 19 tackles, including four for loss, and three sacks in 11 games as a freshman.
