UCLA cornerback Ishmael Adams has been arrested on robbery charges, a UCLA spokesman confirmed to the Los Angeles Times

Adams is alleged to have “used force” to take a cellphone from an Uber driver, the spokesman said.

Records from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s department show that Adams is being held on $100,000 bond. Campus police took him into custody shortly after 3:30 Monday morning, the records show.

Adams, a redshirt junior, has started all 26 games for the Bruins over the past two seasons. He intercepted two passes last season, returning both for touchdowns. He also returned a kickoff for a touchdown in UCLA’s victory over Arizona State.

In addition to his role on defense, Adams is UCLA’s primary kickoff and punt returner.
