UCLA starting cornerback Ishmael Adams has been suspended indefinitely following his arrest on robbery charges, head coach Jim Mora announced Tuesday

Adams was arrested shortly after 3:30 a.m. Monday morning and released Tuesday just before 6:30 a.m. on $100,000 bond, records from the Los Angeles County sheriff show. He is due in court on Sept. 22.

Adams is alleged to have “used force” to take a cellphone from an Uber driver, a school spokesman told the Los Angeles Times.

Adams, a redshirt junior, has started all 26 games for the Bruins over the past two seasons and is also the team’s primary kickoff and punt returner. He intercepted two passes last season, returning both for touchdowns. He also returned a kickoff for a touchdown in UCLA’s victory over Arizona State
