Jackson's 2 rushing TDs lead Nevada past UC Davis, 31-17

RENO, Nevada (AP) Don Jackson rushed for 124 yards and two touchdowns to lead Nevada to a 31-17 victory over UC Davis in the season opener for both teams on Thursday night.
Tyler Stewart completed 13 of 20 passes for 163 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 43 yards and another score.
Jackson had seven carries and 31 yards, including a 1-yard touchdown run to make it 7-0, on Nevada's first drive.
His seven yard touchdown run with 11:47 left in the first half to capped a nine-play, 80-yard drive and put the Wolfpack up 14-0.
After the Nevada defense forced a three-and-out, Stewart hit Jarred Gipson for a 2-yard touchdown pass to make it a three-touchdown game about 5 minutes later.
UC Davis cut its deficit to 24-10 when Ben Scott hit Ramon Vargas from five yards out with 6:56 to play, but a 15-yard touchdown run by Stewart less than 2 minutes later iced it.
