Clemson WR Mike Williams has neck fracture, will play again
Clemson Tigers wide receiver Mike Williams has a small neck fracture but will be able to play again, coach Dabo Swinney told reporters Sunday.
Williams injured his neck Saturday during the Tigers’ game against Wofford. Williams slammed his upper body into the field goal posts support while catching a touchdown. He was carted off the field.
Although Williams can walk and is expected to play again, Swinney said the team is not sure when he will return to the field.
“The prognosis is great for him,” Swinney said during a conference call with reporters. “We are just lucky it wasn't worse. He is going to have an opportunity to play football again. But when that is I have no idea. Anytime someone breaks a bone you have to re-evaluate those things. In about six weeks or so they will look at it, but it could be something that keeps him out all year.”

Clemson's next game is Sept. 12 against Appalachian State.
