Penn State starting middle linebacker Nyeem Wartman-White will miss the rest of the season with an undisclosed injury, the school announced Sunday. The injury is to Wartman-White’s leg, according to ESPN.com.

Wartman-White, a redshirt junior from Philadelphia, was injured during Saturday’s loss to Temple in his hometown. He was hurt during a punt return in the second quarter.

“He's supporting the hell out of us right now,” fellow linebacker Jason Cabinda said, according to Pennlive.com. “It is what it is. It's unfortunate. It's football. Guys get hurt, and there's going to be a group of guys; we're going to have to step in and fill that role.”

He was the second-leading tackler for the Nittany Lions last season while playing as an outside linebacker. With the departure of All-America middle linebacker Mike Hull, Wartman-White shifted to the inside.

Wartman-White also suffered a season-ending knee injury in the second game of his true freshman season.
