Four-star guard Kevin Huerter announced his commitment to Maryland on Monday.

According to Zagsblog.com, Huerter took an official visit to Maryland last weekend. Huerter had visits planned for Michigan and Notre Dame but will no longer take them.

Huerter, who is from Clifton Park, N.Y., is the Terrapins’ second commitment for the class of 2016. ESPN ranks Huerter as the No. 11 shooting guard in the country for the 2016 class. He is ranked No. 41 overall by ESPN.

Huerter is entering his senior season at Shenendehowa High School.

“Hope everyone enjoys their labor day...Great day to be a Terp,” Maryland coach Mark Turgeon tweeted after Huerter announced his commitment.

Huerter will most likely have to compete with Dion Wiley and Jared Nickens for playing time as a freshman. He is the second top-100 commit for the Terps.
