Utah spoiled Jim Harbaugh’s Michigan debut in Week 1 with a 24–17 home win. The Utes were led by a strong performance from senior quarterback Travis Wilson, who threw for 208 yards and a touchdown through the air and rushed for 53 and a score.
The Aggies of Utah State are coming off a 12–9 win over Southern Utah thanks to an Andrew Rodriguez 88-yard punt return late in the fourth quarter. Utah State totaled just 250 yards on offense, though they held the Thunderbirds to just 163 on the other side of the ball.
