After a 56–21 victory over SMU to open the season, Baylor will look to keep the points coming as they face Lamar, another non-conference opponent. Junior quarterback Seth Russell had a strong showing against SMU with 376 yards through the air, five passing touchdowns, 59 rushing yards and a score on the ground. Baylor's running back rotation was effective and receiver Corey Coleman caught five balls for 178 yards and a touchdown in the opener. Baylor should keep the momentum rolling as they prepare for Big 12 play.
