FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) TCU has come a long way since losing to a lower-division team in Gary Patterson's first home game as head coach 14 years ago.

Going into Saturday's home opener against FCS team Stephen F. Austin, the third-ranked Horned Frogs are now a major conference champion and playoff contender.

But one thing hasn't changed in all those years. Patterson is only concerned with winning games and not style points.

Patterson says the bottom line for defending Big 12 co-champ TCU is to beat the Lumberjacks by one point.

In their only previous meeting, TCU beat Stephen F. Austin 67-7 in 2008. The Lumberjacks are 0-8 against Big 12 teams.

TCU lost to Northwestern State in overtime in its 2001 home opener.
