Chattanooga rallies past D-II Mars Hill 44-34

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) Derrick Craine scored four touchdowns as Chattanooga rallied past Division II Mars Hill 44-34 on Saturday.

Craine gave the Mocs (1-1) the lead for good with an 8-yard run in a dominating 14-0 third quarter. He scored on two short runs in the first half, each time pulling Chattanooga into ties with Mars Hill.

The Lions twice took the early lead as Keshaun Taylor caught nine passes for 157 yards and a team record four touchdowns.

Craine was a workhorse for the Mocs, rushing for 169 yards on 28 carries. Chattanooga outgained Mars Hill on the ground 253-167.

Craine also closed out the scoring, catching a 6-yard pass from Jacob Huesman. Huesman completed 25 of 37 passes for 265 yards.

Mars Hill rallied to 37-34 in the final quarter on two touchdown passes from Matt Layman to Taylor, their third and fourth hookup of the game.
