Florida Gators cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III will miss Saturday's game against East Carolina with a leg injury, the team announced Saturday.

Hargreaves tweaked the injury during practice Thursday. Redshirt freshman Deiondre Porter is listed behind Hargreaves on the Gators’ depth chart.

Hargreaves was a first-team All-American for Florida last season, leading the SEC with 13 pass breakups. In the Gators’ season opener, Hargreaves returned an interception 43 yards for a touchdown.

In 25 career games, Hargreaves has seven interceptions.

Florida opened its season with a win over New Mexico State. After taking on the Pirates, the Gators will open SEC play with Kentucky next week.
