CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) Clemson starting center Ryan Norton will miss the game against Louisville on Thursday night with a right knee ligament sprain.

Tigers coach Dabo Swinney said Tuesday that Norton sprained an MCL in his knee during drills on Monday. Sophomore Jay Guillermo will move into Norton's starting spot with freshman Justin Falcinelli as the backup.

Norton is a 6-foot-3, 285-pound fifth-year senior who has started 26 games for the Tigers.

Swinney says Norton had an MRI done earlier Tuesday and the results showed that surgery was not required. The coach said the team would re-evaluate Norton next week, although Clemson does not have its next game after Thursday night until facing No. 8 Notre Dame at home on Oct. 3.
