San Diego State basketball under investigation by NCAA
The NCAA is currently investigating the San Diego State men's basketball program for potential rules violations, reports Gary Parrish of CBS Sports.
The potential violations may include improper benefits to prospects, which could lead the NCAA to charge the Aztecs with Level 1 violations.
According to the NCAA, Level 1 violations are those “that seriously undermine or threaten the integrity of the NCAA collegiate model as set forth in the Constitution and bylaws, including any violation that provides or is intended to provide a substantial or extensive recruiting, competitive or other advantage, or a substantial or extensive impermissible benefit.”
Head coach Steve Fisher has had run-ins with the NCAA before, being fired from Michigan in 1997 in connection to an impermissible benefit scandal.
San Diego State has made the NCAA tournament each year since 2010 and has recorded 10-straight seasons with at least 20 wins.
