Tennessee linebacker Curt Maggitt to miss upwards of 8 weeks

Tennessee head coach Butch Jones said that star linebacker/defensive end Curt Maggitt will be out for upwards of eight weeks.

Tennessee linebacker and defensive end Curt Maggitt will be out for upwards of eight weeks, reports Barrett Sallee of Bleacher Report. 

The redshirt senior suffered a hip injury while playing on punt coverage, head coach Butch Jones revealed Monday.

Maggitt serves as Tennessee's go-to pass rusher on defense. He led the Volunteers with 11 sacks last season.

He was chosen first-team preseason All-SEC after earning second-team All-SEC honors last season.
